One Hundred and
Thirty-Three Places
Between September 2023 and 2024 Kent Kim travelled the length of South Korea and made one hundred and thirty-three paintings on site — on Jeju, in the Seorak range, along the east coast, in Pohang, in Seoul. Each painting takes its subject from the place where it was made: its name, or a single word for what happens there.

Every one was filmed from the first mark to the signature. One hundred and thirty-three films exist. The archive is not documentation of the work; it is half of it — which is why the paintings and the films are shown together and counted together.
Each point is a place where a painting was made on site, with the word that was painted there. The map is filled in as the remaining locations are confirmed.
